I am a young woman but I want to be as masculine as possible. I kind of have the look down but not really, and my mannerisms can still be a little too feminine. So, keeping in mind that I cannot take T or have any surgeries (and that I don't really want to):
1. How tightly do I need to bind?
2. How much shorter should I cut my hair (3" already)?
3. What do I do about my voice?
4. Do I need to shave my face?
5. How much muscle tone should I have?
6. What are "manly hands" as opposed to "girly hands"?
7. Which is more masculine: glasses or contacts?
8. Should I cut down on my "high diction" when writing?
I would sincerely appreciate any help that you could offer me.

unplanned, I am too young to take T and I do not have the money. Plus I do not like to take meds.
I've been told that I have high diction, or fancy writing style, in the various essays that I write for class and such. I guess I mean should I limit my vocabulary and not pay so much attention to grammar?

NEVER CUT DOWN ON HIGH DICTION!!!! EVER!!!!!
you don't have to act stupid to act like a man. i know plenty of (straight) men who have very high diction and are quite intelligent.
just be happy with who you are and all will follow.

1. Bind them so they aren't noticeable. Baggy shirts help.
2. If you're going really masculine looking it's time to bring out the clippers. About a #3 on the sides and a #6 on the topwould allow you to spike it and stuff.
3. Play around with it and eventually you might find something that sounds authentic. Then practice it. Doing the opposite of some of the voice training for MTFs might help too if you can adapt it to your use.
4. Unless you have facial hair, don't shave. If you do have some, shaving it can cause it to grow in a little bit thicker just like any other hair.
5. Build up the upper body muscles. Use jogging, walking, running, etc on the lower body to burn off any fat without causing a great increase in muscle.
6. Many hands are larger, thicker, rougher, tougher than a woman's hands typically. Most of that comes from a combination of male puberty and testosterone.
7. Neither are really exactly masculine or feminine. Certain glasses frames are more feminine though. Typically the smaller the frames the more feminine they look. Contacts would allow you to not have to weigh the masculinity/femininity of the frames next time you pick out a pair.
8. Again, if you're going for that overly-masculine, dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks, brawn-over-brains male stereotype, then yes. Cut down on the fancy, intelligent language and use a limited vocabulary.

1. How tightly do I need to bind? Depends on the size of your breasts, obviously the flatter the better if youre trying to look male
2. How much shorter should I cut my hair (3" already)? depends on what style you like, look at some online and plug in your pic and play around with some ideas. I'm currently at 1" and its really not that short.
3. What do I do about my voice? Yuo can take voice lessons to try and find you chest voice/tenor ranges
4. Do I need to shave my face? shaving places where theres no hair makes it grow in faster and thicker. If you dont have any yet, if you start, it will be there in time.
5. How much muscle tone should I have? depends on how buff you want to be
6. What are "manly hands" as opposed to "girly hands"? manly hands, or at least the sterotype, is rough, big, thick hands that know a lot of physical labor. But thats something thats hard to change. girly hands are ususally soft, smaller and more petite
7. Which is more masculine: glasses or contacts? depends on the style and what you look like with and without them
8. Should I cut down on my "high diction" when writing? wtf??
question... why cant you take 'T'?

Bind tight enough to be flat, its good to wear a sports bra then bind them down,
3" is butch and masculine enough, lots of men wear long hair, just find a men's style you like.
Not a whole lot to do with your voice, voice lessons yeah and just pratice not opening your mouth so wide when talking, you'll go deeper the more closed it is.
You can shave if you want, if you have facial hair. If not, don't bother. I shave my face, I don't like facial hair too much because it's just peach fuzz, I don't have enough T in me naturally to have more hair, though I am thinking about getting T-shots.
There are fat guys and thin guys, start out with small muscles, (less weight more reps) you'll get toned muscles instead of bulk.
Manly hands have no nails, some hair, rough and all that, girly hands are "omg I broke a nail" sort of thing. If you work out you're hands will get a little more masculine and rougher from all the lifting friction. Glasses or contacts don't matter for masculinity, though you can see more of a face with contacts.
With your writing, many guys write in high diction, just because you're masculine doesn't mean you're stupid. Men normally write smaller and they're words are closer together and somewhat messy but legable.

1. I'm not sure I follow what you're trying to bind.
2. As short as you want it.
3. Leave it alone and don't lose it.
4. Only if you have something to shave and want to shave it.
5. A healthy amount.
6. Manly hands are more worked and hard while girly hands are soft and worked less.
7. Neither. Glasses and contacts really don't have any gender to them.
8. I don't even really know what high diction is, but I'm sure it doesn't matter so much.

Whatever you try really to hard be, the opposite will scream out eventually. Just be yourself! Just love yourself! Find you "style"... maybe it could be more "butch"... but let yourself shine! Nothing is more masculine than a hot guy with a great brain and a great vocabulary!!
I went through a self-hating period when I thought I had to "butch it up". Well, it was only a matter of time before I was doing things like crazy drag expressions because it takes alot of energy to be something you are not... It seemed that I had to balance the macho-acting with weekend drag extravaganzas... Now I'm just a plain in the middle, gay guy who might be considered fem sometimes... but pretty masculine in appearance.
What I learned? To relax and don't put such an emphasis on looks, style, masculine, feminine... just be myself.
Never tone down your intelligent traits like writing and vocabulary!!!

1. just wear a sports bra that pushes your breasts down against your chest. (Breasts are sexy though :-) )
2. its hard to tell how short without seeing your hair now but flip though some hair style mags for men and see what fits you best. short isnt always best wheather masculine or not.
3. with a high pitched voice i can see what you mean but my this girl i know is like you and she just tones her voice down a few octives.
4. no dont shave your face whatever you do! one day you will regret it. it will grow back thicker.
5. just work out on a regular bases and you should see results over time. gradually you will relize what is best for your body build.
6. mens hands are bigger and the knuckles tend to be bigger but hands really dont matter.
7. they both can be masculine
8. im not sure what you mean by #8 but regardless here are some tips for you and i hope everything works out.
Merry Christmas

As a cisgendered male, the diction thing can apply to me. Depends on my mood, I'll admit, but I'd also just throw out there that I haven't really heard of that being associated with gender. Also...I think the answer to all of these questions is: whatever makes you feel comfortable. Do you like how you look with glasses? Go for it.

There are already a lot of great answers above. I would just like to add on your number 8. Don't lose your writing creativity and intelligence when you're transitioning, you may not feel comfortable with your body, but it would be a shame to try to be basic when you have writing talent. There are a lot of great male writers. I can start with Socrates, Plato, Augustine and end with Tom Clancy. Develop your writing, though there may be slight sexual differences in penmanship, the writing talent is universal. Who knows, one day you may be able to write about your experience on your sexuality on a novel. ;)

keep your grammar. get yourself a compression bra and packer (a dildo basically but flaccid for real effect). don't worry about the voice. just look through mens mags (not gq!!! but like mens health or sports mags) with realistic pics of guys and their hair for that. mannish hands aren't as soft on the palm side and are usually larger and meatier. good muscletone is a plus for either gender. you want strong looking arms, butt and back but don't ignore the other areas. a lot of cardio is key cause men have so little bodyfat. you can im me for pics of my woman. that shold help you.
