No, a good deal of the money that the control things as you say come from a time when oil was not the investment it is today. In the U S many of the fortunes come from the time of slavery. Much of the money comes from those who profit from war, arms and amunition and all things needed to carry out a war. Today oil does play a big part of the fortunes amassing for today's wealthy and powerful, but so does high tech, and big business. In other countries with a few exceptons things are much the same.
