Whats the whole point of this ask and answer thing...what are the point you earn used for?Can someone please explain...

Well, this whole thing is suppose to help you to get answers from real people and what they think. I find it helpful just to find out some stuff that I need to know. The points thing, I'm not too sure, but the more points you get, the more you can do. For example, since I'm a level two, I can rate answers given by other people

It's interesting to get other people's thoughts on trivial things as well as really deep things. Since the forum is kind of anonymous you ask an honest question, you get honest answers.

The points accumulated further the amount of questions and answers you can add. I think the idea is social interaction/education (and some use it to simply vent).

It's just a fun way to occupy your free time and to find out what's on other peoples' minds. Also to just give help to those asking for it. Better than rotting one's brain staring at the tv for hours on end.
