America a long time ago attacked probably Iraq or Iran to steal all the oil gas or some kind of liguid. American leaders thought oh well we have oil/gas (don't know which) but we as americans always want to be the best and have more so lets kill off all those people over there so we can get there oil and be the best. So all those terrorists did was try to even things out get revenge payback. So does anyone else thing America deserved it?

How could anyone believe that men, women, and children who were never a part of any kind of action should be cooked in a furnace? That is absolutely rediculous! Where did you hear such a story about America attacking Iraq or Iran?? I remember that Iran was involved in several terrorist acts in the past as well as IRaq and a few of the other countries in that neighborhood. It is difficult to prove exactly WHO is involved in such acts. Terrorism serves no purpose except to kill and maime citizens who are innocent. It is a most cowardly act and can only be committed by such a person. GOD will judge people on their acts whether they are American, Iranian, Iraqi, or wherever they are from. We need not worry about that. I just can not imagine anyone defending such actions. Have a safe and wonderful holiday with your family. Spend part of that time on reflection over this past year and study the BIBLE if you have the opportunity to do so.

What Sep 11 attack? Are we sure it was an attack by some terrorist organization... or was it a planned demolition. I once had the pleasure of reading some factual documents that showed otherwise... (Like open fire can not melt the 6" beams, furniture and office equip. at wtc were fireproof. jet fuel burnt up in first 15 seconds after impact, Vertical collapse impossible as per engineering plans of wtc. and yes none of the arabs named were confiremed by the flight records, FBI said one of the passports were found in the WTC rubble, (In the rubble?????). The plane that struck Pentagon: no debris found but some scraps. Same brit. Company renovating both buildings, plane can't make the type of hole made in the Pentagon walls, video images from security cameras show nothing. and the list goes on and on.

But one thing is for sure......
Killing of Innocent civilians, be it in Iraq (Haditha one current example out of many), Afghanistan, Lebanon, Palestine or in your case Manhattan is unacceptable.

These days Islam is mostly related to these events, mainly by pro-western media, but they never say that Islam was the first religion that forbids mistreatment of civilians (let alone killing any), injured or surrendered opponent solders. It even went so far as to stop its believers from killing domestic animals or cutting trees from the land that they conquer. I am sure Christianity and Judaism also, having their roots in the same divine source, believe in these values.

What is happening around the globe is insane... Humanity was never so shallow. Our greed is making our decisions not our humanity. We need to change our course if we want to have a better future. And that course can't have violence in it or all of us loose.

And let’s stop using the word terrorists or terrorism. Y because its meaning is not very clear.. If you think it is then tell me. Did Saddam caused more deaths during his above 30 years of dictatorship or did Bush junior in the last 4 years in Iraq. Who’s a terrorist??? Who should be prosecuted?? Who had the license to kill?? Neither… As long as we use this word some one will find a reason to kill… Mr. JW Bush showed no proof of the claims he maid before war. If so then he should be prosecuted for killings, destroying a state, causing ethnic violence that kills hundreds of HUMANS ever week. Was the dictatorship better for Iraqis or this so called democracy? Would you prefer your children to live and grow up in a dictatorship like that of Saddam or in the current situation in Iraq??????????????????

Lets vote for peace and force our governments to rectify their policies and actions.

People really need to learn their history before they start spouting off a bunch of idiocy. I have mixed feelings about bombing Hiroshima but it was done to end the war. Most people who lived back then will tell you that it would have gone on and on without that drastic action. The US has been a force of good in the world- we have always stuck our neck out trying to bail people out.

But even that weren't true - nobody deserved what happened on September 11. Any country you look at has made mistakes and committed atrocites of one kind or another. Heaven help us if we all start getting what we deserve.

Well first of all, I agree with you 95%.

I understand that it was very sad what happened on that day, and I believe that all the people on those planes and buildings didn't deserved to die in that way.
I'm not from United States, and I'm not trying to offend or hurt anybody on this website; but in my opinion I agree with you except for a reason.

United States has been a powerful country for many centuries and I believe that the presidents and the government of this country has killed many people than those who were killed on the 9/11 attacks.

Just think about the Hiroshima atomic bomb that exploded in Japan during World war II, how many people died there? for cause of the americans??

And now the thing is that nobody deserved to be killed like that, on that explosion by the ''americans'', so what's the point? United States has killed many people on this earth that the terrorists did on the 9/11 attacks...

So this is my opinion, it has been deserved that the United States has been attacked by the terrorist to LEARN, KNOW AND SEE what they have done to many people on the earth, and by this, this country has become weak during the last 5 years; and it will be continue to be weak forever...

Whatever the reasons for America's war on Iraq.....no country deserves an attack on its civilian population for actions the government takes.

Terrorist are cowards who attack those who cannot defend themselves or are not armed. You cannot compare armed struggle between two armies that fight each other and an army fighting civilians.

America did not deserve the attacks then nor now, nor in the future, no matter how bad or biased their foreign policy is.

Osama and his group were jealous of America in the first gulf war. Saudi Arabia rejected Bin Ladens request to defend Kuwuit against Saddam and chose the US forces instead. Then Osama decided that us mere infidels had no right to be in the middle east so he got jacked off and decided to start killing americans. He is a mass murderer anyway you look at it. Does he and his likeminded group do saintly things like collect for the red cross or try to save endangered wild life? They hit and they run and they cause suffering to their own family members in the process.

America didnt deverve it. They were charging too much for the oil just because they are so poor. And you know what? The prices are still high. Pretty soon they are gonna be 5$ a gallon. They deserved to be attacked. And America has tried to make peace with them just so you know.

If you consider how many innocent deaths the U.S. has been responsible for either directly or indirectly as in the case of supporting the terrorist state of Israel one can find many reasons to understand why people would strike back.

The U.S. government has never seriously looked in the mirror but instead makes assinine proclamations to the effect that "They hate us for our freedoms".

This is patently absurd. Why haven't they attacked Switzerland, the most free country by far in the world? The simple answer is because Switzerland doesn't support the second largest terrorist state in the world, that being Israel, with the US leading the way.
