I am thinking of buying a computer off of someone but i want to know if this would be a good buy or not? this is what i have been told about it So guys is a 125.00 a good price for a computer that has 186 MB ram with windows xp 2002 its recovery disk is built in it doesnt have a burner BUT it does and a cd driver were you can play cds it is a 2000 compacQ computer

Well, I would say that it is not worth it. The system has 128 mb of ram, and you need at least 512 to get through the day with a hint of sanity. You said that it does not have a cd burner, so you won't be able to make backups or burn documents or pictures. Plus, the monitor could die any day if it is from 2000. By the time that you get done upgrading it, you would have been better off buying a new computer all together.

Check out newegg.com. They have tons of computers at quite affordable prices, and they ship fast and reasonably. Hope this helps!

If it is a Compaq, in my experience, has not been reliable brand of computers and are mostly proprietary parts. Bad customer service.

Windows XP needs a minimum of 512 MB RAM. An that in itself is not enough if you plan to use applications such as Office and Graphic intensive. Forget about Windows Vista which is right around the corner.

Not worth buying....

yeah its ok i guess um but 186mb are you sure?
and how much memory for the hard drive?
