Probably not, if you've just moved in. It takes time for floorboards to rot, and chances are -especially with a cracked tub- the water's been leaking there for some time. If the tub's fiberglass or plastic -common in mobile homes and trailers- You can repair it with fiberglass auto-repair resin. Then coat the whole tub with a layer of resin, like is used for boats. This won't fix the rotting floors though, and you may end up having to pull the tub out to replace the flooring under it. -Definitely not a job if you're renting. If you own the place, you'll have to decide if it's worth the expense of re-doing the bathroom. If so, you might consider just getting a new tub too. A repaired tub will never be the same, even if it no longer leaks.

most mobile home tubs are pvc not fiberglass. the fiberglass repair wont work because it will not form a good bond. the tubs can be purchased for less than 200.00 dollars and usually are easily replaced. the floor is a different story. there are some unique procedures to properly repair a mobile home floor. as for rotting the floor is particle board and it starts to smell very soon the glue used in its manufacture is great food for mold and other nasty things. as for your insurance they usually include a clause that states sudden and catastrophic which implies neglect if the problem was not addressed in a timely fashion.

As far as insurance, forget it. If you are renting, bring it to your landlords attention. My concern is the smell you describe. It sounds like this has been an ongoing problem, and there is more than likely mold under the tub. If it was me, I would pull the tub, repair any water damage. and replace the fiberglass tub with a steel one. It might be expensive now, but what will the cost be if it is mold, and you or a loved one dies from infection? Just my opinion!

Three holes? maybe. three cracks? No. I don't think the cracks are leaking. It is more likely the tub drain was broken, or has come loose. If you want a cheap and presentable way to seal the cracks, Go to Lowes and buy some stuff by Dry Lox. They seal swimming pools with it. it is painted on and is white. It would resemble the stuff placed on the tub floor to keep you from sliding. It costs about ten dollars a gallon.

no you can't claim it. But i'm thinking you will have to change your tub, and the floor under it.
