Pardon my ignorance but her name has appeared several times of late. I gather she is lesbian and does not appeat to be respected or liked.

Since you are on the other side of 'the pond', I will try to explain.
Rosie O'Donnell is a comedienne and actress who also happens to be a lesbian with a partner and children. She started gay family oriented vacations named "R Family Vacations" and is now a co-host on an American talk show program called "The View".
Donald Trump is a real estate entrepreneur who inherited many properties in New York City and has grown his wealth into billions of US dollars over the last 20 years and now has his own television show named "The Apprentice". He was originally married to a beautiful woman from the Czech Republic, but divorced her to marry an American actress named Marla Maples and has since divorced her to marry a young model several years his junior. With his wealth, he purchased the rights to an American beauty pageant named "Miss USA".
Recently, the current Miss USA was found to be drinking alcohol while underage and could have been replaced by the Miss USA runner up since she was not acting properly. There was a news conference where Donald Trump made the public statement to keep her on as Miss USA and saying that she acknowledged her mistakes and was still of high moral character for acknowledging her mistakes.
On the television show "The View" that Rosie O'Donnell is on, she made fun of the fact that Donald Trump acted as a moral authority after having a number of younger wives and having one of his companies enter bankruptcy court in 2004. In response, Donald Trump threatened lawsuits against O'Donnell and made remarks about her physical appearance, her personality, and her having a girlfriend.
Both Ms. O'Donnell and Mr. Trump could easily be labeled as opinionated and neither appear likely to back down from this disagreement. If this were to happen in the UK, it would be front page news in The Sun and The Mirror for days on end.

Rosie O'Donnell has been a professional comedienne and actress since the late 80's and 90's. And a few years ago she came out of the closet. She used to be really good and charsmatic and did alot of children's programming on Nickelodeon. And ever since she came out of the closet her persona had changed. She had become a lot more outspoken and not very nice. She used to be called, The Queen of Nice because she was so coridal. And I did used to like her as a child and looking back she had to be a lesbian. She's always had this kind of butch/Midwestern mom look, lol.
But anyway, she has changed so much she doesn't seem the same. And with her feud with Donald Trump, even though Rosie made some good points, I have to say I agree with the Donald. She really has became a loser and even more sloppy than she used to be.
And I'm pretty sure Elizabeth Hasselback can't stand her. I don't watch the view but I've seen videos of Hasselback's facial expressions around Rosie. And I think the View is going down, it ain't popular anymore. I predict this is the last season!
P.S. And it's not the fact that she is a lesbian of why me and many others do not like her anymore, it's the way she started to act when she came out. She's basically "this close" to not staying in the public eye long.

She's an american lesbian...other than that I don't know too much about her..except that she's on a program called 'the view'(which I've never seen) and that she had some disagreement with Donald Trump about the current Miss america being forgiven for blatant drug use..From what I saw Rosie and Donald were trying to be the most childish of the two respondants...I mean, who cares what they think?
But Donald Trump is such a loser.

She is a television talk show host, comedian, actress (League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle) and VERY out lesbian. She has a habit of being outspoken and often putting her foot in her mouth. Love her or hate her, you can't be indifferent to her for long.
She recently got in a tiff with Donald Trump (billionaire and ersatz celebrity) about a beauty pageant contestants escapades involving alcohol and partying like Paris Hilton. Much a do about nothing. Battle of the big mouths, battle of loud mouths! A slow news week in America.
If Trump and ODonnell were to have a duel, there would be a sniper present to take out the winner!

rosie odonnell is currently in hot debate (term used loosley!) with the trumpster right now over his handling of the miss america underage partying scandal. rosie is a BIG ole homo with a wife and kids. she used to have her own talk show and helped launch the popularity of tickle me elmo. now she's one of the hostesses on the view. i can't stand her voice and she never says anything interesting enough for me to block it out and just hear her. she has talked about her daughters private parts on her show which i think is absolutely wrong. not a fan except her being gay and famous can help some political causes if she would apply herself to a noble cause.

She's a comedian. Been in a few movies. Had her own talk show. Is friends with Ester (Madonna). Is currently on "The View". Is currently in a fake celebrity "feud" with Donald Trump for publicity.

Rosie is great...VERY funny stand up comedian....like everyone else in America had a talk show and is now a co-host of some other talk show.

Her personality is too much and I think that's why she's not respected. She opens her mouth when she shouldn't and has pretty much taken over The View....I used to like that show too...
