I recently moved to the Twin Cities, and I am shocked by the wave of rude behavior I have noticed. Men don't allow ladies to go first when entering a building. If someone asks to be excused during a business meeting, co-workers roll their eyes. The local cashiers and waitresses are downright unfriendly. Has anyone else noticed this?

I think that you're more seeing a Big-City Attitude (which is most unfortunate) Most people in the Midwest are quite freindly and are very polite. Alas for the rest of us, though, are the up-and-coming generations work/ethic attitudes which are rather cut throat. I hope that isn't what you saw. Blessings.

what you're describing does not seem unfriendly to me at all - it seems like normal behavior. I'm used to that. (or perhaps I'm just not a likeable guy, lol)
