Ask for a fair allowance--my husband gives me several hundreds per month to buy groceries, home stuff and the rest is for me to save/buy anything I want, that way, you wouldn't have to ask him to get you every single thing you want, and he'll also feel secure because you won't overspend on your budget.
Aside from my allowance, we also have a joint savings account, which we both have access to, so we know how much is in there at any given time, and we also have separate bank accounts as well that we each have a $3,000 limit to, as an emergency fund should something come up. Anything extra automatically goes to our joint savings account. Of course, trust and communication is something you should both have for each other when discussing and going over finances.

In my circumstances ya because as I'm home all day everyday with our 2 year old. It sucks because I was always use to working and handling my own Finances. We do have separate accounts though, so when I do return back to work we will split the bills and keep our own spending/saving money.

assuming you have already had this conversation with your husband with out any luck... I am wondering are you a stay at home mom/wife? if so figure out your duties on a day to day basis that you do for the family. Then call around and price it out if someone was to come in and do them for them in your absents then share the bill with your husband as your negotiating for what you have already earned! do it with love and see what happens.

He sounds very controlling and like he isn't very sharing. Better get this under control NOW. Tell him you also like to have some cash with you and if he refuses talk it out...you may have to split if he is a stingy jerk

We each have our own bank accounts and after the bills are paid we can do whatever we want with the rest. If one of needs some extra cash we transfer to one another.
