Your computer's Master Boot Record, or MBR may have become corrupted. The MBR is a small file found at the beginning of a hard disk that tells the computer where it can find the partition with the operating system on it, and begins the process of booting up the computer.

If you're using Windows XP, you'll need to use a recovery console to write a new MBR to your hard drive. If the system's not even seeing the OS, you'll probably need to get out the Windows installation CD to start up a recovery console.

If you installed the program off of a floppy disk make sure the disk is not still in the drive.

If that's not the problem:

Turn your computer off and then back on. there should be a key sequence such as "DEL" or F1 to enter the BIOS setup normally referred to as just Setup on some computers when you first turn them on.

You'll have to look at the startup sequence and make sure Device 0 or IDE0 or whatever reference is used that pertains to your hard drive, is set to only boot off of that device.

Some computers include an Error Startup and an Automatic Startup. Disable those.

Save the settings and reboot to see if that fixes the problem.

It sounds like your computer has deleted or moved the files necessary for your computer to boot. The only way to fix this will probably be to reinstall your OS and reinstall all of your programs and drivers. Yes, this will mean that everything you had installed on there will be lost.

It seams you lost the operating system files, if the partition is FAT32 boot up with floppy boot up disk and when you are in drive a:\ type the followings
a:\ sys.com c: press enter
wait few seconds you should read system transferred
remove the floppy and restart computer.
now the bad news if the partition is NTFS that stands for
new technology file system if the partition that kind you have to format or use software like partition magic might fix it.

Hmm this might be more serious than sounds. It looks like your harddisk has either been disabled in the bios or your hard drive has give up the ghost (ie dead as a dodo).

I think its time to ask santa for a new hard drive my friend

Hope this helps

Sounds like your hard drive took a dump to me! Put your restore disk in or your windows disk and repair.
