real as in the show. i know the actors and place is real. but what about the show
i mean it seems so set up. when do they go to to school?
where do they sleep?
how they can live normal lives with cameras in their faces?
it's shot over an 8th month period, yeah where's the school?
and really,
how can the guys and girls just talk about their relationships?!
doesn't seem like reality.

How can everyone be so naive? Just watch the damn show for 10 minutes, and you'll see that it's undeniably fake. I mean, I can believe that what they say is improvised, but everything else is set up. The situations seem real (and I guess thats what the point is), but they're not! There's no way that all those things happen to a small group of people in 8 months. My brother used to think it was real too until I showed him a million reasons otherwise. Now he's a convert.
Dont be foolish.
Oh, but just because it's not real doesn't mean it's not fun and juicy. I hate Kendra's friend...the one she's always with that wears HUGE sunglasses all the time...the fat one.

Well, I have heard that in the first season, some shots were actually taken at their school, but the school wouldn't allow any cameras in for the following seasons. (I dont know if that is true, though). I also heard that the camera men are not up in the people's faces...but, they are a little bit away, only zoomed in. I dont know about the relationships and talking and stuff. MTV has to probe them with questions so they can get the details they want for it to be a good show.

Ald is pretty right on. They don't film in the school because the school wouldn't allow it for obvious reasons. Most of it is shot during the summer and holiday breaks. Sweetheart, put a camera in front of some rich, materialistic kids and they will act like they are the sh*t. I think that over the years with the other episodes each of the casts feel that they need to top last season so I think that some of it is fake or acted out so they can have more attention on them.
I think most of it's contrived just to get ratings but what do you expect from reality TV these days....

i heard that everything that was said was real,
but the scenes were set up..
so it was basically all improv ..
but i don't know if that's true
