My opinion? The news media has it's own agenda. Regardless of whether it's liberal or conservative, they have an agenda. The majority it seems, are liberal, anti-Bush and anti-war. Rarely ever does the media print the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
And America? While the average American isn't stupid, they do tend to be either very apathetic, or very staunch. Most, are easily confused and can't remember from one day to the next. They live their lives, for the most part, content in their own little sphere, numb to the world by a bombardment of dumbing down, mind numbing sitcoms and nighttime soaps.
We're not just now curious as to whether or not the books are being cooked. It's just the media trying to invent more news. Must have been a slow day. Last week, the AP was reporting the death toll in Iraq at 2,990. Today, with the loss of five more service members lives, they reported the toll to be 2,962. So, which is it? Why won't they report how many men Patton lost in his drive across France in WW II with the 3d Army? Would you believe he lost on average 1,300 a month? But from 08Nov1944-07Dec1944, he lost an average of 812 a day! The media of today has an agenda. Had the news media then reported with the same "Moral and ethical" standard by which they report today, we'd all be speaking German.
