I think your approach to ask was offbase. Women and Men are like fine china, I agree with that statement- it's a play on words, meaning delicate, if that is your intention, reword it properly. There is no such thing as property, only the internal value systems we rely on for kindness and compassion, which you lacked the tact when asked this- unless you did that purposedly to instigate... but you clearly choose your words as ' precious ' - don't be too quick to merit any response in your favor if you haven't already had the mindset.

Another "woman are property" question. No women are not property of any kind.
I Would just asked if we, as men, think women are precious.

Thankfully not in most place by law anymore, and in reality how can anyone be the property of someone else. Property is a thing and no person is a thing.

Considering anyone property is denying, in your own mind, their freedom to be themselves, their individuality, and their wondrous oneness.
You can always cherish the love you have together, you can cherish her for the wonderful, amazing person and partner she is to you.
Thinking of your wife as someone not possessed, not property, not owned, only makes it clearer how wonderful is the love she chooses to give to you. Rejoice in the blessing!

No she is a woman in her own saying that she were his 'property' is like saying she cannot do what she wishes (like leave him or any simple dission for that matter) without his ok
