I've had a series of jobs and after a while it seems like people start to disrespect me and stop taking me seriously. I am a very good employee, smart and I work hard, but for some reaon I have never been given any promotions at any jobs I've had and after a while I just get so frustrated that I end up very negative at work and end up quitting. I'm too old to keep quitting my jobs, so what am I doing wrong? What do I need to do for people to start taking me seriously?

Thank you all! You're making me feel better! I've been pretty depressed about this lately.

You altitude is determined by your ATTITUDE, not your APTITUDE.
Charles Swindoll once said: The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do.
Attitude is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.
Attitude will make or break a company ... a church ... a home.
The remarkable thing is, we have a choice, every day, regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is OUR ATTITUDE
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our attitudes.

Are you single? Not getting married? Not dating any girls? Have no children? If all that is "yes?" Probably that has allot to do about not getting any promotions. My advise is to talk to a lawyer. You might have a case.
I remember I used to work for a company. A nineteen-year-old kid dropped out of school became a father got promoted. I work at same position for years.

It relies upon at this type of company you paintings for. If he's the owner of the entire company then you relatively will ought to reason with him. If he has a md and you're company has an open door coverage possibly you ought to talk together with his boss. Does your organization have an expert harassment coverage? if so, it would define what to do.

Have confidence. Don't let people walk on you. It doesn't mean be rude. Just show self-confidence.
A lot of times, people don't get promotions anymore. Times rough economically. It may have nothing to do with you. But you can discuss the matter with your boss.
Just be glad that you still have your job. You are obviously doing well because they keep you there. Just remember that.
