On my computer i have 1 mic ports in front and back, 1 headphone jack in front, and one L/R Speaker ports in back.
On my 5.1 surround sound, i have an Audio port on the front.

1.) It states to hook the Audio Jack up to the Audio Out/Headphone Jack. Can i plug in my head phones and Surround Sound system into my computer at the same time, or would i have to switch back and forth. If i would like to have my headphone hooked up while my subwoofer is hooked up, where do i hook the Audio jack to. Can i hook it up to the L or R speaker ports.

2.) I decided to go ahead and buy a sound blaster card and it has 3 Audio Out ports and 1 Audio Out/In port. Can i hook up my Audio Jack to any of these ports and all 5 speakers still work or can i only hook it up to the headphone port.

The reason i am asking is because the Audigy Creative Manual only shows how to hook up 3 jacks to 3 ports, but my surround sound doesn't have those kind of ports, it has the L/R TV ports and the Audio port only.

If I understand correctly, then you have the wrong kinds of speakers. If not, lemme run this down then.

1. if all ports are filled with your speakers, you're out of luck with your headphones. However, most speaker sets made for the PC have a headphone jack on the master speaker (the one with your volume setting and power button)

2. You can hook up your speakers into the out ports and plug in your headphones to your audio out/in port, but will have to take it out if you want to use a microphone in the same port.

like another execs of their solutions, stay a fashion from Bose, sure i try this for a residing too. i'm unlikely to specify a brad cuz i do no longer understand your funds. So with no funds my advice is to spend the same quantity on audio gadget which you spent on your DVD, CD, and Receiver mixed. So in case you have a $2 hundred DVD + $one hundred CD + $seven-hundred receiver then spend $one thousand on the audio gadget or extra in case you have the money. audio gadget make the biggest distinction! additionally for music and movies, if your funds facilitates, get something with larger front audio gadget that could characterize bass. Subs are wonderful if it is the gadget you may arise with the money for, besides the actuality that bass is generally non-directional, even i'm able to tell the place a 30Hz tone is coming from so frontal bass is extra friendly. And through all capacity in case you may arise with the money for larger front and a sub then do the two. Listening tip, human beings tend to purchase overly vivid or bass sounding audio gadget (Bose) because of the fact factor through factor to a "soft" pair they seem to sound extra constructive. it is till at last you get fatigued from listening to them. So think of once you're listening "wow that treble is crisp and loud, sounds stable"...... think of approximately it, is it over the precise, is that going to computer virus me whilst i'm watching a action picture? wish this helps
