You might drop the fuel tank, again and make sure that the fuel pump assembly is position correctly. Alot of times if you don't put the the fuel pump assembly back correctly it wont read the fuel level correctly. Also check the plug that goes into the assembly to make sure its in good condition, they have to be replaced sometimes. You shouldn't have anything to rest. Just make sure the battery is disconnected.

My guess is that your fuel level sensor/sender is either bad or hooked up wrong

most likely, the sending unit is bad, because the sending unit and fuel pump is one assembly and cannot be bought seperately

Get out your owner manual..no answer there call the dealer.. Or there is the possibilty that you didnt do it right.
