it is ok to have blood tinged mucous plug.... most women only notice small amounts after they urinate. I was luck enought to pass the entire plug and it looked like a glod of snot. Sorry to be so blunt. If it is greenish I would just for the baby's sake make a trip to labor and delivery at the hospital, so have that checked. Has she tested for group beta strept? I would rest easier if she got checked out. She's come too far to not follow through on getting this checked out. You know, just incase. It only takes a little bit and it's probably nothing but what if it was and you listened to a bunch of ppl who were talking about something they don't do for a living.... ya know? Good luck to your friend.

Her mucus is greenish? Get her to the ER asap....ANY dark yellow or greenish mucus coming from anywhere besides your nose...is not a good thing...it is a sign of an infection...The baby could have passed maconeium (baby's 1st stool) inutero...Which, will cause problems if not dealt with asap...

Most OB drs have answering services if you call during the day you can get the Dr to call you back. Or they have a nurse that answers your questions at night or on the weekends. Mucus should not be green.

Things are going along smoothly now, and you will not need to contact her Dr. until she is in labor unless they have told you otherwise. She will know when she is in labor, she will have rhythmic cramps, and she will not be able to miss it. Congratulations, it sounds like her time is near!
The belly drop means that the baby's head has moved down, and the mucus plug means that her cervix is relaxing. Both of these signs are encouraging.
Doesn't her Dr. have an emergency phone number?

If she has questions call the office and an answering service should pick up and direct her as what to do. If not, call the local hospital maternity ward and ask. But all in all, shell know when its time, believe me, shell know. LOL.

only when its bloody will you need to call someone...and there is should be someone available because it would be a lawsuit waiting to happen if there wasn't anyone that she could call in case she went into labor. if the mucus hasn't tinted with blood yet then don't worry unless her water breaks before that happens.

I am concerned that her mucous is green. That is generally an indication of infection.
