xbox system error?

Question

i bought a xbox(the blk one) recently and wen i turn it on it says system error wiht a bit white 07 next to it what does it mean do i need to buy another one?? or is it the hard drive cuzz if it is ill take it apart and put my old one in there

p.s. the old one is broken and the harddrive is somewhere in my house

Noooooo you can not put a different harddrive in an xbox inless it is the one that came with it. Well you can but the technical complications are not for someone without modding experience to undergo anyways. seven usually rerfers to the ide cable not being plugged in all the way. Or sometimes a corrupt harddrive if you jsut bought it like you said take it back and exchange it. Inless you have opened it or something now you got yourself a problem if you have opened it open it again and make sure the ide cable is sercured in the hardrive dvd and motherboard correctly. Good luck i have a modded xbox had my share of problems with them always have patience if something doesnt work never go prying around inside without knowledge of what your doing i learned the hardway.
