can't be done, and why would you want to change? gas in the long run is way cheaper and less smelly than oil and the maintenance on it is far cheaper. the only way that it could be converted is to remove the gas furnace and replace it with a oil fired furnace.

Why would you want to convert it to burn oil? Now it can be converted from natural gas to liquefied petroleum gas, such as propane! It would require different orifices, or even a different control valve, depends on the brand. Some units ship an extra set of orifices, usually inside a small white cotton bag with yellow draw stings, or a small Manila envelope with the optional orifices, and warning labels, that are to be applied inside the unit. The reason for this, is to inform a service tech, that the unit has been converted. The tech doing the conversion is required to complete a form supplied, so that a paper trail exists, in case of problems in the future.

you do not factor out what area you stay in. gas and oil fluctuate so some years are winners or losers relying on which area of the fence you're on. you also did not factor out the age or performance of you gas heater. gas has fewer shifting elements and may in many circumstances continuously run at a larger performance than oil, with a lot less upkeep. i'd ought to trust also require a large number of oil to warmth on your season. (acceptable maintained, oil warmth might want to don't have any smell nor go away any residue at your position of abode.) i imagine the superb use of you money will be extra attic insulation, perchance a window improve (thermal variety)and then insulate your walls if not already performed so. (With the heating invoice you describe i will basically surmise you're perchance in New England in an older residing house with little insulation?)

It can't be converted to oil.... It wouldn't be a good idea to go with fuel oil anyways. Where I live fuel oil is almost twice as much as LP, so you wouldn't really be saving any money if thats you plan.

Well, it can't. It would be way more expensive than buying a used oil burner, ( and that is what you would have)

ABOUT AS EASY TO CONVERT YOUR GAS DRYER TO BURN OIL. I DON'T THINK YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD LIKE THAT NAMEPLATE THAT SAYS "AGA APPROVED" IF IT'S AN OIL BURNER, EITHER. NO WAY ON THIS ONE.
