i think he just might be, i mean look at his movements, let me tell u something, playing conerback is the hardest and most challenging position in football, i dont care what anyone says. physically u gotta be a close to excellence, u cant waste any movemnt or thats it u r done, now to be champ bailey u jus gott ahave it in ur blood, the guy doesnt have any deep balls thrownover him coz hes soo damn quick and reacts faster than flies on crap, hes jus too damn athletic, best man to put on a uniform
plus u cant compare him to the great running backs, i mean they r good but u gotta understand hes playin against todays receivers, i mean today receivers are 6'4 200, running a 4'4 average and leaping like 40' off the ground and champ finds ways to lock em up, running backs all u need is speed, creativity and vision and one more very important thing u people overlook........a good offensive line....i mean u aint gonna run for nothing at all without a line i dont care who u are..ladanian tomlinson the best in our time, and priolly best ever has one of the best offensive lines plus a very good full back, running the ball takes the whole unit, but for a coner back, its him and the receiver, man, u gotta give it to the guy, hes a beast..
PEOPLE....running the balls takes the whole unit to perform..think!!!

He said best man to put on a uniform, not best player. While Champ is possibly one of the best defensive backs the game has ever seen, he is also a class act and I think that is what Johnson was making reference to. Johnson knows Bailey personally and nobody in the league has anything bad to say about Bailey so obviously he is very respected in the league, especially if Chad Johnson says something positive about you.
So is he the best athlete ever? Probably not, but it is possible that he is one of the best men, Champ truly is a class act.
No spitting, no finger salutes, no fights, he just plays and moves on, you hear nothing bad about him ever.
And to whoever said the 2 best players were LT and Brady, you got half of it right in LT, however...Tom Brady didnt even make the Pro Bowl....he's a good quarterback, great at times, but is not one of the 2 best players in the league, Champ just might be though.

Alright, a strong case can be made that Champ Bailey is one of the best CBs ever to have played the game, but come on. Best athlete ever?
Chad Johnson was probably just trying to cover his own *** in case Champ would shut him down during a game. You know how much he likes to talk.

That is a big no... He isn't even the best Corner to ever play the game. If you look at football this year, who would you pick first Champ the loser Bailey or LT? Hmm 8 Interceptions or 31 TDs. Plus you want to say Champ is better than Deion (who people would not throw at) or Rod Woodson. Come on.

He's the best CB in the NFL. But best athelete? Better than Jesse Owens, for example?
P.S. Champ is a solid tackler in run support. He just never has to tackle from pass coverage because his guy doesn't get the ball.

You talk about Delusional, Wow I dont think he he would make
top 300 all time. I dont think the Redskins would take him
back straight up for Clinton Portis. Sorry but Chad Johnson
is the most overrated player in the NFL right now..WOw..

What a ridiculous statement. He's the NFL's best corner, but the two best players in the NFL are LaDanian Tomlinson and Tom Brady, hands down.

I wouldn't say the best player ever, but I would say he's one of the best Cornerbacks in the NFL.
I personally think the best player ever to wear a uniform was Jerry Rice.
