If you had the choice of being buried alive at a crossroads or having your head cut off by someone with a battle-axe, which one would you choose, and why?

Decapitation.

Quick, easy, minimal suffering if done right.

Being buried alive is pure hell. As you slowly lose air and feel the claustrophobia, it would be awful. You know when you hold your breath too long and start panicking, invoking you to let go? It'd be like that, but you couldn't stop it.

In the past, people didn't know what concussions were so when someone entered one, they would bury them, since their heart and breathing rates would be too shallow for them to sense. From digging up graves they find caskets with giant scratch marks on them from a panicked person buried alive, who awoke to be driven mad with no hope for escape.
In fact, in the Guinness book of World records, there's a man who was nearly buried alive after entering a concussion from motorcycle accident. He wasn't even totally buried, but now he's mentally unstable and completely paranoid and obsessed with never having that happen to him again. I'd imagine it to be a hundred times worse to get to being buried part, and to slowly die frantically panicking

that's a annoying decision...they the two sound like lots exciting! till now there have been greater useful the right thank you to be sure dying, some people surely have been buried alive, while in actuality they have been in a coma or such. This replaced into desperate via the shifting of grave web content and discovering nail marks, etc. on the crude caskets. to avert that, people have been buried with string of their arms, related to above floor bells...for that reason we've the saying,"stored via the bell".

Buried alive. It seems more intimidating, and less spectacular. Kind of interesting. Decapitations are for drama queens.

decapitation. It's faster and less scary. I watched Kill Bill 2 today and I was thinking about being buried alive, that's one of my worst fears♥

I have a choice, right? Then I choose neither because I have too many things I have to do before I die.
