I think it's kind of obvious if someone is shy...
I don't see why a shy person has to come out and say "I'm shy." If they had to then why don't people just immediately label themselves to the person they're talking to? Hell, why not make everyone wear a personality name tag?

well dont you think that they might sense it once they see that you arent saying much? i mean maybe if the person is outspoken and can help you get out of your shell then yea it could be beneficial to say something to them but if they are just like you, then whats the point. if you feel the need to tell someone about yourself you know like being honest with them before things get any further then thats fine. there is nothing wrong with being shy nor is there anything wrong with being a little quiet and non outspoken. there are alot of people out there who are just like you. just be honest with that person and hope they understand. maybe if you get a little more comfortable with them then you will start to develope this loud kind of speaking out nature that you may never knew you had. so yea it could be beneficial. your being honest with that person and honesty is very important. so good luck.

It surely wouldnt hurt. Its nice to get everything out in the open. Or at least get them use to it. Just say, "oh hey, by the way, I can be shy at times" They will completely understand and it will be easier from the beginning because there wont be any miscommunications or assumptions.

sure! that will break the ice, the other one will feel like if he wants to get to know you, he has to make some moves because you already have say the way you are, this way it wont be misunderstood between the shy person and the one getting to know him. because sometimes when someone is shy people tend to say you are snob, or dumb, or not interested.

Yes, that way their not thinking you wished were somewhere else. If your shy and quiet you know why, but they may not. And could presume that you are not interested. Let them know, maybe they can help lighten the situation for you

They could probably tell you're shy, but to keep anyone from thinking you're snobbish or something, it would be a good idea to mention that you're shy & quiet.
