My job is transcribing tapes of insurance interviews and you would not believe how often people sprinkle it into their speech. It makes me crazy! Also, uh, um, you know and you know what I mean. Honestly, can't people just say what they mean (or type it) without all that filler?

Like it absolutely does! I hate to hear people talk that way. I wonder where it started. So many young people talk that way.I remember it being popular about the time the movie Valley Girl was new. It's about time to STOP IT!!!!
