everyone has seen the movie so there are projections from the facts that those whose fortunes and lives were lost were the back bone of allot of Americas and internationally achieved people of the day, we don't get philanthropist unless there is wealth and this is dooms day for most Americans future was certainly altered, just as the u s s central America went down it was our entire net worth at the time America has had it rough

The sinking of the unsinkable ship of its time is a great reminder to all that nothing is risk free. Which will always be a reminder that people must not be complacent even if you have thought about everything because anything can happen.

I think the main effect was that mankind realized there where limits to how much nature could be challenged. It demonstrated the consequences of man's hubris in the face of the natural world.

Well, I guess the tragedy influenced into the security measures of nowadays' transatlantics and cruisers, increasing the number of lifeguard boats for example, or better training for captains and marines, teaching them not to be so sleepy or risky or irresponsible.
