No, it's not true; wear nice sheer hosiery to flatter the parts of your leg that can be seen, no matter how much or how little that is.

It's true...You wear Nylons instead. If you don't already know...Stockings are thick, usually baby girls and little girls wear them and when adults wear them...it's only for warmth, or pairing them with a short skirt and knee high boots for a late Fall early Winter look. Nylons are not thick but can be worn with formal attire, they can also be worn with open toe shoes. If you don't believe me...ask the lady from What Not To Wear, it's on the TLC website, look for the show, then look for a fashion quiz...it's question 11.
If you still don't know the difference...Stockings are like a stretchy cloth, and you usually can't see your skin through them, and they're similar to leggings as far as the material goes. Nylons are thinner and sheer so you can still see your skin through them.

No, I think stockings should be worn when dressing in long formal attire.

No. You should wear stockings, if it feels more comfortable to you. If you normally don't like to wear stockings then don't. The length of the dress should not be the determining factor. Your comfort should be what helps you decide.

no, that is a myth. Most people wear stockings with a long dress. You never know when you want to flirt and show
you shapely legs.

No. I don't wear stockings at all. My legs are in good shape & I use glowing moisturizer on my legs with a hint of self-tanner. I just don't like stockings to me they're outdated.
