I really don't know. The "gangsta" culture baffles me.
I guess its like if you were fat & another overweight person was like "Dude we're fat let's hit the gym!" would be a whole lot better than a skinny person saying "Dude you're fat go hit the gym!"
But thats juss my guess. Your question is going to cause controversy haha. Be prepared to be called cracka & racist about 38 times!!!

Cause of slavery and past racistness. They feel as though they should be able to do whatever they want after all those years of oppression and slavery. Plus the n-word is a word that I don't like and cringe when people say it. Its just not a good word to use. Just let it die. Also what i've said isn't true for every black person. I'm black and I don't make fun of anyone. The people I know don't make fun of anyone. You just need to get to know better people overall.

Because they can't say it. They feel it's a double standard. Never mind how I feel about the word (I hate it and don't say it), but I understand why some Blacks do say it. We took it back from it's intended meaning. When Black people address each other with that term, it means something COMPLETELY different than what it does to non-Black people.

Another question with broad generalizations. Not ALL African Americans use that word. The dynamics around it are so confusing, I'm not even sure why anyone uses it anymore, I for one, don't. I also don't make fun of the skin colors of others, but, find that people of all races (Latino, African American, Asian, and White) do. Anyone who feels the need to tease someone for any reason is insecure and is trying to deflect attention from their own inadequacies.

I agree with the person who said that caucasian's don't freak out near as bad when we are called crackers. I just try and call people by thier names and if I don't know thier names I ask.. that way there is no problem and ya might meet new people =)

Cause the blacks feel entitled because of slavery. Funny it ended well over 50 years ago and most of those whining about it have never had to deal with it but they be entitled because of something their grandparents endured.
My person take on it is if they says it. they is one

Some African-Americans say it to each other because in doing so, it strips the word of any actual power so they become desensitised to it and it basically means nothing when some idiot says it to them.

The N-word has disrespectful connotations; it should not be used at all by anyone at any time. Personally, I do not find it funny in any context. Same for any other racial slur for that matter.
