I don't know if they'll get a lot of the humor-- which for me would make me not show them the film. Let them be older so that they can really appreciate the brilliance of the writing. There are references to homosexuality-- which might be an issue for you. There is language certainly in the film. For me the biggest concern would be the death that occurs. For me, the way it was dealt with was brilliant dark humor, but I don't know how an 11 year old would view it. I would vote yes for the 14 year old but no for the 11 year old.

Depends on the kid. I would let my 12 year old daughter watch it - but she tends to be very mature for her age. I have more reservations about my 15 year old son... but I'd probably let him watch it as well. The main reason it probably got the "R" Rating was all the swearing.

the storyline is fine for them, but there is language along the way that wouldnt be. they drop the F bomb at least once that i can remember. its when the kid screams after finding out he cant fly for the air force.
