i had started dancing when i was about 4, around 14 i had alot of reasons that forced me to stop taking lessons. i still danced a little in highschool, now its five years after high school and i miss it like crazy, im curious as to what types of dance are condusive to those who have been away for a while like me. all this time i've been keeping myself well stretched out and often find myself walking on the balls of my feet at times. any help with my question would be very much appreciated.

This question must be coming from someone who's younger than 25. It is my observation (in life, and with this website) that people tend to worry about "too late to dance" between ages 13 and 25. Once you passed that age, it is not too late anymore. LOL.

To answer your question, I think Ballroom is pretty forgiving in this regard - you can start pretty late and still get quite good. I think jazz or modern would be more forgiving than ballet. Also, it really depends if you want to dance for a hobby or you want it to become your profession.
