Feeling charitable, I brought a new girlfriend and her 3 daughters home from a shelter to live with me. A month afterward, I realized the responsibility (and her "habits") to be far too overwhelming on me. She was "absent" for Thanksgiving, and I packed her things and ordered her out. She had called yelling, and I nearly had a stress heartattack from her actions...so I called the cops. We talked through that, and she went back in the shelter (soon to have her own place). Should I keep my faith that things will get better? Or, is it just time to call it quits?

Do you want a companion, or a mooch?

I would say this.. taking on a woman with three children that currently lives in a shelter is alot of responsibility.. apparently she has some issues going on there. I don't know the whole story so I can only comment on what you said, but to be honest if your not in love with her and your already doubting things ... I think it's best to call it quits and try to remain friends. that's if you wanna be friends ... if not then cut all ties.... good luck

If you feel you want to continue helping her and her daughters then keep on trying but if not then just let things be as they are and don't interfere in her business any more. I think this is something you have to discern from your heart. It is always good to help those less fortunate but it is wrong to get too personally involved with their private lives. Too often it leads to trouble and you have now experienced that to some degree.

Run man Run! The chick sounds messed up and you can't fix it! Get out while the getting is good, life with her will not get better it will only get worse! Seen too many great guys end up with crazy girls all that happens is they get burned! A good man deserves a good woman and visa verse!

Really, life is too short. You can get another fish. Maybe one that wont stink so bad. You are better not to mess with the kids lives either. She needs to take care of them and not worry about you.

I think you should just see what happens. Maybe you rushed into things bringing her and her family to live with you. Maybe it's just not meant to be....If she wanted to be with you she would have been more greatful for what you have done for her and her children. Good luck on this one!! I hope it all works out one way or another!!

You should move on. There seems to be an awful lot of responsibility involved with little committment. Cut your losses and move on.
