I got a Xbox game for my dad knowing he was going to get a xbox 360. I didnt notice it was for a xbox at the time but I need to know if the game will work with his new xbox 360.

The game is The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind.

Morrowind isn't on the backwards compatability list.
Most Xbox games cant be played on the 360 but supposedly they are adding more and more (I doubt it) to the list.

Not ALL the games for Xbox, maybe inserting a cheat code is in some cases impossible (like GTA San Andreas, a man asked a question saying that he can't use a cheat code that he needed to use in the moment.)
It's like PS2 with the PSone games, maybe there are some games that doesn't work.

Every game manufactured for the old version of Xbox will work on the Xbox 360

Yes, it does. Or at least the manufacturer says it does. I tried a couple of titles like Halo, Halo2,.. and it does work.

They say it will but there are bound to be a few that do not. Overall you should be safe tho.
