The range of average is 85 to 115, low average to high average. However, if you did an on line IQ test, remember that these are not considered "real" IQ tests, and they usually score higher than the real ones. An IQ score is just that, a score. It is not who you are. Much more important than an IQ score is what you do with it.
These sites will explain more about IQ scores and different kinds of intelligence.

What everyone has forgot to mention is the fact that it's just a number you got *for that specific test*. The IQ "system" is based on on the mathematical system of normal distributions--that is, the bell shaped curve you typically see for statistics, and standard deviations. This has to be adjusted for each specific test. YES, one test can be more difficult than another.
An IQ of 100 is not some magic number people are just born with that happens to be a nice sounding number like 100. Nor is your score of 131 "your fixed IQ". The peak of the distribution (the mean and median will usually be close) is set to be 100. Based on a lot of people taking the exact same test, a range can be setup for what the average score on that test is, and that will not necessarily mean most people score that. Half of people will be to the right of the median line, and half to the left.
The scores can then be calculated to have standard deviations away from the mean. A SD of 1.0 (or -1.0) includes those that 34.1% away from the average. A 2.0 would include ... 47.7% .
So you see if you have 2.0 on either side it includes 95.4% (47.7 times 2) of all people taking the test.
One can then just arbitrarily say that "genius" includes those greater than 2.0 standard deviations from the mean.
As you can see, it's all just a numbers game. You can't label yourself on just a number. It's how you are relative to everyone else. 131 is a good score, but it's just that--a score. Yes, you can actually improve your score. Practicing for pattern searching and learning the types of things that IQ tests ask you for make your brain healthier, and thus you'll be faster at tackling those problems--and thus performing better than your peers on an identical IQ test, yielding a higher score.

It sort of depends, actually. Some tests list the minimum as 140, others list it at 160.
130 is a pretty good score. Allegedly, a score of 100 is average, but it seems to me as I see peoples' results, that the scores are actually inflated and the average really falls more between 110 and 120.
Mensa - the organization by and for geniuses - probably has one of the best tests out there. They have a truncated version you can find online and you can actually take a full-fledged test from them as well.
In the end though....does it really matter? My IQ runs around 155. So what. It doesn't really matter, anyway. Everybody that I know that is more successful than me isn't as smart as me. Just luckier, or in the right place at the right time, or in the right business, or not as ethical, or more able to stick to a good plan, or much better social skills. In the whole scheme of things, a high IQ isn't really very important.

It isn't genius but fairly smart. But there is a lot of wiggle room in IQ tests. A lot of smart people don't do well on them. There is also a lot of difference "IQ" and knowledge.
If someone has a genuine love of a topic and studies it intesely and comes to know all about it, they are the ones who make the new discoveries. But they may be terrible at figuring out what drawing comes next in a series of drawings or what number in a series is the wrong one.
I had a good laugh at the answer above mine, he's absolutely right. I first took a "fake" IQ test and came out with a certain score. I then studied with the company that gave the test and when the real one at school and it came out a lot higher. He makes a good point. If I can can increase my IQ in two weeks am I really any smarter? The answer of course is no, I am not.

That IQ is great. Genius is 140 and above. Genius carries its own problems with the label.
131 is a very good score and above average so be happy and learn all you can about everything.

Well, in my opinion, 131 is a high score . The normal score is around 105 to 115. I don't know the lowest number for a genius.

Some of these people seem jealous. It's a high IQ. People need to stop saying "if you have a high IQ it doesn't make you feel better" or that people with high IQs don't make friends easily. It has nothing to do with making friends, actually. Second of all it does give you a sense of pride to have a high IQ. Its like a good grade, or high rank. It's good. You are smart. You should be proud of it and not let any jealous fools talk you down to their level.

Genius is attained. It is defined by an IQ score. People feel that others with high IQs are geniuses because of the apparent difference in intelligence.
