I think it's so people feel more private and protected, thus they are free to ask ANY question without someone really knowing who they are!

Not everyone, has a 360 account, not everyone has a myspace account, someof us have to work, and go to school fulltime, and this yahoo answers is our only release.
Oh and I have gone thru hell, I don't think anyone wants to see my face.

Because the people in here are slighltly more intelligent than the myspace idiots who advertise everything about themselves. It is not wise to advertise who you are online with all the nutjobs around.

A lot of people don't want to bother making a 360 page just to be able to show their actual picture.

Why do you only show the side of your head and not your face?
In my case, it's 'cuz I'm too ugly and I don't want to warp anyone's monitor. :)

because i dont want to waste time making a 360 page and uploading my photo , and besides, my avatar describes me best xD

after posting my pictures on the web so often, im too lazy to go add another picture or link up or even bother clicking my profile to edit it .
