Obviously, there was no Republican or Democratic party back then. But I would say that by today's definitions, Jesus would proably have been an economic liberal, based on his condemnation of the rich who ignore the poor, and his recognition that a poor woman giving her only dollar (in today's terms) is a larger gift than a rich man giving 100. I'm more doubtful about his social stance, but I like to think that he'd advocate something of a "live and let live" approach. I don't know if he'd be a Democrat, but I seriously doubt he would have been a Republican as known today. Probably independent with liberal leanings. I bet he'd play well in the Bible Belt, though.

Where did you get that? Every one knows Jesus favored the least among us. Republicans don't care about the poor, the hungry, the down trodden. You can't change the fact that Jesus is a Liberal.

No, God is a Republican and Jesus is a Democrat. It's a bi-partisan family.

He would have been an Independent and would have probably shunned the Democraps. I think He would have voted and sided with what is Right for the country rather than what the latest poll said. He may have said, "damnit, we are Americans, not Repubs nor Democraps. Let's kick some raghead butt". Just guessing here.

Yeah, in a way, he probably was, but then, maybe closer to an idependent conservative. But he chose to spend all of his time with Democrats (or their predecessors).
