Risk by far. Life is based more on chance, (and some say risk is also based too much on chance) but in risk there are ways to tip the scales in your favor, something much harder in Life. for a better or equivilant board game, see chess or monopoly

They're both real good games, probably two of my favorite. I never get to play Risk though because my 10 year old sister can't comprehend all the stuff so Life is better, in my opinion, because it's a game that is compatible with all ages. Plus it's a lot shorter than Risk and everyone has an equal chance regardless of age.

Risk is really long and can be challenging to learn for some people, life is great for all ages isnt very long and is really easy to play, which one is better depends on who's playing the game

My heartburn with "Life" is that you can be dominating the game, only to have someone roll the dice after finishing the trip and instantly win out of pure luck. Risk is my kind of game - lots of strategy. But for family fun, NOTHING beats Balderdash. It is a real blast of fun. HOWEVER, if there is a vast difference in the ages of the players, the younger folks will never have a chance in Balderdash. If all are adults, Try it - You will like it.

it's very hard to compare these two games, Risk is a strategy game that can lead to very intense competition and can take a long time.

Life is a more relaxed game that doesn't take very long, and is good for all ages.

both games are great for their respective situations, but it's impossible to really compare them.
