Why aren't gang members considered "terrorists"?

They terrorize people, what do you think?

what should we do? is America too soft? We have to make sure the murderers and child rapists are living comfy, When we should be punishing them! 60,000 a year to keep someone in prison? bullets are only .20 cents a piece.

Gangs use organized crime as a way to make money. Sometimes involving fear. Terrorist commit acts to invoke mass fear and hysteria for political means. Bolth a result of mistakes made by people responsible for leadership in a large community. Your solution has not worked well in the past. Why would it work well now? There are murderers and rapist in every place and walk of life and culture. It seems we cannot afford to make the same mistakes over and over. The Soviet Union as well as many fascist governments have exercised such laws in the past did it work well for them? I think our freedom and tolerance as well as our ability to adapt has put us at the for front of the worlds nations. Our law also uses fear as a mean of control. But we must not Raleigh solely on fear but find other ways of making the people who cannot fit into our society less costly.

Drive-by justice (which is what you describe, what with the lack of due process and reform opportunities) is just as bad (if not worse) than gang activity. EVEN if we abhor the activities of gangs, if we DON'T take the steps necessary to protect the rights of an accused, what's to keep other classes of society (like the Amish, for example...a radical, subversive group if I EVER saw one.) from being equally persecuted?

Gang members DO want to control areas of territory. Terrorists want to destroy or disperse population groups in the most violent ways necessary. A gang cannot function if there is not a level of society to prey upon...terrorists aren't interested in maintaining a parasitic relationship: They want to kill you.

I guess calling gang members being called terrorist would confuse some people with the ones over in the middle east. But yes, gangs should be considered terrorist. And racist activist.

A little extreme, if you ask me...that's not really my way of thinking...

Gangs were invented to protect neighborhoods, not terrorize them, which they are doing now. I think they should be done away with, but I wouldn't have a clue as to how to make that happen...

There not really terrorists. They don't kill people for no reason, however, we should be stricter with them, and shooting at murderers is not such a bad idea. Our at least putting them on death row.

because theyare americans and alot of them are teens. that would be politically incorrect. but it would be correct to call them terrorists. I would say this though. its hard to live in the slums of America. and its even harder to find protection in the slums
