I'm not sure it is, either. I've found GI to be a bit of a pain. Their ratings are inconsistent, and they like whatever's popular at the time. You also don't see a lot of non-mainstream games, and there are a ton of ads.
I've never gotten a lot out of their cheats section (which is teeny.) Also, I got my subscription for free by joining Gamestop's gamer program, which gets me a discount on games too, so if you want the subscription, try that first. It's only a year's worth, but at least you get more out of the deal.

ahh I have it but just because it was 15 bucks at gamestop for a year with their 10 percent off card for used games. Actually anymore most magazines are just too similiar to each other and greatly outdated compared to websites that give up to the minute info...check out
