when you rip something from a CD, is the thing you ripped on the CD, AND in the computer now?

Yes...it doesnt leave the CD...thats what i thought at first

yes it basically copies whatever is on the cd to wherever you choose on the computer for example if you rip to media player then it is saved in media player and remains on the cd

Yes It is is doesn't leave the Cd...It is just like making a copy of it...
