Yes, to change your screen resolution, right click anywhere on your desktop screen, select 'Properties', then from the menu that appears, select the 'Settings' tab on the top, then on that screen, you should find a small slider which allows you to change your resolution. Once you have found the one you want, click 'apply' then 'ok'.
Your change in resolution was probably caused by a program that temporarily changed your resolution, then, for some reason or another, failed to change it back to the normal one. This is rare, but mostly happens in gaming applications.

If the slider is greyed out it means there is an issue with the driver for the graphics card. That means you should update the drivers.
