One of my favorite bands is the Postal Service because of their cool sounds. does anyone know of other bands with the same type of music? thanks!

I'm not familiar with that band, but I can give you some links that might help you discover some similar artists.
http://www.pandora.com is a site where you can type in your favorite bands, (in your case, The Postal Service) and hear songs that have are similar to theirs. It's one of my favorite sites, and great to use when you're typing a report or just like listening to music when you browse the internet.
You might also want to try http://www.liveplasma.com , it's a search engine that recommends artists you should listen to based on your likes, give it a try.

Hmm, I'm thinking Interpol, Maybe Jet. Modest Mouse, Deathcab for Cutie. Kings of Convenience. Not saying bc these are my favorite bands (tho I like them all) but bc they have a similar type sound. I could think of more, but thats what comes immediately to mind.

Also try yahoo music. They have this 'simlar artist' feature that helps a lot....

i dont know that band but i can tell you some of my fave band here in the phillipines and i hope you can here some of their songs...here are some..
1.sponge cola- their song is "Gemini" and if ur a filipino try their "bitiw"
2. Hale- song is "broken Sonnet" and "Waltz" and also "The Day You Said Goodnight"..
3.Cueshe- most of their songs are great try some of them such as "Borrowed time","Back To Me" and "Cant let you Go"...
