IT could be from where it's a different batch, for example, I bought a DS on release, and the sound seems to be much less "tinny" than on my mates DS, who bought it several months down the line.

Companies always use whatever equipment works best for them, so if a slightly diferent chip, or one made in a different factory is easier to implment, they will use that chip.

IF you're concerned about the condition of your console though, and believe it may be faulty, you could always send it off to Nintendo to have a look at it, they are very reliable, swift, and will return the product in excellent condition and packaging, and will also send it back to you recorded delivery if you request it, note however that if your device is outside of the guarantee period, they may charge you for the service.

General advice though is to just keep your console well protected, buy an OFFICIAL carry-case for it or something, keep the screen clean and scratch-free, and it will last a long while, (I use glasses cleaner on a cloth for my DS/GBA, asit's a very weak solution, so as not to corode glasses, so will not damage the console screen, remember also to use an anti-dust/static cloth).

the unique GBA reveal is truly darkish, and needs an excellent mild source to work out acceptable, the GBA SP version has a outfitted in backlight and is a lot brighter. besides the indisputable fact that, until eventually your searching at taking section in unique gameboy, or gameboy colour video games besides, you'd be more beneficial off getting a DS or DS Lite, you'll nonetheless be able to play all the GBA video games (except for some link-up concepts) and the more recent DS video games, and its extra in all probability that you'll locate one in a save.
