seriously, why do they need to ask? we don't know the people!

If it bothers you why read it? THOUSANDS of folks have trouble deciding what to buy primarily because they have been in long term relationships and have exhausted the obvious things.

I don't care one way or the other.

True, we don't know the people that they are referring to when it comes to them having to buy the strangers (to us) a gift but I can see their concern, when they come up blank when it comes to ideas.

Maybe they are looking for a suggestion or something unique sounding that they themselves haven't thought up on their own, a different perspective perhaps.

No, I think it's a legitimate question. I can't stand the "am I pregnant" questions (take a test for crying out loud) and the homework questions (I had to do my homework myself when I was a kid, don't ask me to do it for you).
