There's no such thing as a brief synopsis of Star Trek. There have been several series,(Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Star Trek Voyager and Enterprise) There have also been multiple films and so many characters that it would be impossible to list them all from memory. There are so many stories to the Star Trek experience that it would be impossible to give you a brief synopsis other than to say that Star Trek follows Star Fleet, which is based in a futuristic San Francisco, California. Star Fleet is a militia, so to speak, who sole purpose is space exploration. Beyond that, it gets complicated.

Well now there are no new Trek shows on air.
The only glimmer of hope is JJ Abrams (the guy behind Lost) is working on a new Star Trek Movie. Rumored to be a new cast.

I hate that show! My dad loves it but always falls asleep after 5 minutes of watching it!!
