A scented candle or bubble bath or something.

A "cheap" gift under $5? Wow! What a generous sort of person you are!

Well, you are limited by "income," I see.

Some suggestions: go to the Dollar Store or to a craft store like JoAnn's or Michael's. Check out their frame sections and perhaps buy some inexpensive frames- for the size of wallet size school photos.

Or, if you are crafty and have the time (it's the 22nd so, there isn't much time) buy some craft items to make into inexpensive gifts- like key chains or ornaments.

You could also buy some inexpensive candies and put them into a nice decorator box or two.

Depending upon your age- you could make up coupons:

good for cleaning your room without being asked
good for clearing the table and washing the dishes
good for a night of no fights with anyone- including siblings.

Be creative!!!

My dear Meredith,
I am a mom and a grand mom...I love handmade gifts, they come from the heart and usually don't cost money. I especially love the certificate booklets: to cook a dinner, do the dishes an extra night, do the laundry an extra time, sweep xtra, etc.
You seem to be a very sweet, caring, wonderful daughter, mom will be happy with whatever you decide because you are the best gift of all.
Merry Christmas Meredith

You could buy a cheap picture frame and decorate yourself with some other cheap stuff and put a picture of the two of you in it. That would be kinda nice. Or you could like write a rap an incorporate her name into it and break it down to her during christmas dinner. Also kinda nice!

Gud day,

I think you should give her a chocolate candy. Then tell her that she's like the candy. Little so it seems but as sweet as if you can't swallow right away. You tend to savor its sweetness and every love she gave you. She's different and rare. Your mother's love is something to be cherished all you life. Now that she's still young, I suppose. Enjoy the times together as Mother and Child.
Have a nice day ahead of you!

You could make her some coupons like for hugs or a foot rub or shoulder rub, etc and she can give them to you when she want to get one of her coupon specials. Also cheap gifts are nail polish gift sets or little manicure sets.

Inexpensive gifts that have great value are home made coupons, that your mom can redeem at anytime saying, "Redeem at any time for.... "Will Clean House", "Will Wash Dishes", or "Wash Car, etc.. They will work if you are willing to do the work.

The cheapest, but most priceless gift of all... Time. Try spending more time with your mom. She'll appreciate it more than any gift you could possibly buy her.

Go pick some flowers out the garden, are maybe make her a card on the computer, 5$ isn't much but it's the thought that counts.

That's simple... a card that tells your mom how much you love her. This is a great gift for any mom.
