I am considering either going to the justice of the peace or having a small wedding... I have been with my fiance for 9 years and we have a son together. My Mom says it would be stupid to have a wedding... and that we should just go do the paperwork. She says people will think a wedding this late in the game, with a baby is foolish. What do you think?

It's completely up to you! If you are okay with going to the Justice of the Peace, then do that. If you would love to have a small wedding, then have your small wedding. If you want a big bash, then go ahead! It's completely up to you. Talk about it with your fiance, and decided if you'd like to celebrate your union. You can even have your son involved if you wish. Your mother can say whatever she'd like, but in the end, it is your choice. It's not about what other people think, it's about you and your fiance. I hope this helps!

Well it's up to you...I wouldn't call it foolish necessarily. I would however say that since you two already have a son, maybe it would be wiser to save the money you would use for a wedding and put it towards a college fund for your son. And instead of having an expensive wedding, maybe a small, close family and friends wedding or even just going to the justice of peace.

If YOU want a wedding, then have a wedding. Stop worrying about what other people (including your mother) thinks

I think everyone deserves a wedding, so if you want one, then have one. You only live once...live your life to it's fullest!
