be sure its the egr valve and not the dpfe sensor, this sensor will create egr codes

Most EGR valves are simple enough to change. However, if this is hidden, take it somewhere. It will save you much distress.

Listen to Joe, very seldom do the valves go bad. Most likely the DPFE sensor or clogged port.

i own a repair shop,and you can change it your self,,all you need to do is remove the old one,,clean it off real good where it mounts,,and install the new one back i its place,,and hook the line back up to it,,that's a real easy job to do ,it should take you around 35 minutes at the most to complete this,,good luck,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

you can change it yourself,its not hard.i think all its got is 2 or 3 bolts.i changed mine on my olds.
