Don't buy individual guitar strings. It would not be economical for the reputable guitar string companies to distribute them individually, and your guitar sound will change if one of your strings is different or older. The individual strings you get from stores are probably used and/or not very good.
A set of Guitar Strings costs between 3 and 12 bucks. Not too much of a set back.

Wal mart sells a whole package for about 6 bucks. Any good music store will sell separate guitar strings or a package of 3 or 4 of a string that breaks often -- Broke your g-string? Smile!

Almost every music store gives you the option of buying individual strings - usually for about 75 cents - 1 dollar (Canadian) each.
But those may be the cheap bronze ones.

try your local music store or go online to a store like musicians friend but it would be better to just buy a whole set that way when it comes time to replace another string you dont have to go out and buy another you already have one there.

Strings are cheap, its always good to replace them all. Better to have them all wear down at the same rate. Just spend a few extra bucks dummy.

Any reputable music store in your area will sell individual strings. Just make sure you know what string you want and what gauge you want.

most music stores would sell you one string, about $1
you should replace them twice a year anyway though so maybe splurge and get the whole set for $6
