Well, if you have a sorceress you need to get more unique items, assuming that you upgraded your mana and not your strength. For a weapon, use a staff that amplifies you best used spell and try to select a socketed one, to add some gems for melee attacks. On the head you should use a cap, unique if you find one, and preferably a large belt. U need lots of potions. Best accessories on your sorceress are the cast speed ones. Just use 2 rings and 1 amulet with cast rate bonus and you can cast spells really fast. Believe me, even 10% matters. Last but not least, remember to equip you mercenary well with the old items you wear, or maybe with some strength requiremented weapons.

I have a level 93 sorceress in Diablo II. I use a Heart of the Oak runeword, Chains of Honor runeword, 2 SOJs, Mara's Kalidescope amulet, Arachnid's Mesh belt, a unique Shako ( I forget the exact name of it, but it is the only unique shako)
In addition I have a sorceress torch, an annihilus charm, and several +1 fire skill charms and +1 cold skill charms.

I would advise making a frozen orb, meteor, fireball sorceress. Don't invest in lightning EXCEPT for teleport and energy shield. Put one point into each of those. Let your mercenary handle the monsters that are immune to cold and fire.

I would also advise starting over if you have put one point into every skill available. Some skills are useless, such as enchant. You really want to maximize the skills associated with fireball, meteor and frozen orb. After you have maxed those skills, invest in fire mastery and/or cold mastery. Put 1 point into the first cold armor, though. That armor can be a life saver because if monsters hit you, they freeze for a moment, giving you time to teleport away.

For your merc, you will want an act 2 nightmare merc. He has holy freeze as an aura. For his equipment give him a shaftstop armor, a vampire's gaze helm with 20% damage reduction, and an insight made from a cryptic axe. With the insight, you will never need to invest in mana potions again.

www.diabloii.net

This site will introduce you guides for each individual class and the coinciding gear to go along with each class.

I've played this game for about 2-3 years while i was in high school, and have made many characters along the way. There's nothing you can really recieve at level 25 that would be "too great" or make a great impact in the game. I would reccomend just finding a 'grinding' area or a boss that you can kill really easy and 'farming' that spot until either a) you keep leveling or b) you get the gear which you were looking for.

this also is a site similar to the other, this is the offical site.

Added note Blizzard (the company that developed Diablo 2) is my dream company to work for.

Either one will work fine. Prices are good, and they're both very reliable AND safe sites.
