My partner ( who is Black jamaican born here ) Went to a pub a while ago with his mixed race friend . He bought a drink from the white bar maid . Who proceeded to wash her hands after touching my partner . Then the white bloke who was sitting next to him on the stool moved . This was nearly an all white pub in a mixed area however . How rude is that . I told he should have shoved the drink right up her BBEEEEEPPPPP>

What is your black partner doing in a nearly all white pub? What did he expect to get? A steel band and a waving jamaican flag and a string vest???? - this is behaviour he should learn to expect and accept because times are not changing.

this is going to affect your relationship as well. He should just move to an area with more black people. It sounds that the only thing mixed in that area is you and your boyf.

I am a barmaid and have to wash the glasses by hand, and I do tend to wash my hands when I have to wash the glasses, it has nothing to do with race or colour, its just something I do after washing ashtrays etc, and cos we dont have a glass washer (cept for me) I would hate to think if it was me that It caused offence, just trying to put another option across.

Sad that this kind of thing still happens in the world. Best thing to do is to keep ordering and sitting right there where they have to get used to you.

I would have asked if she had any hand sanitizer after receiving change or a glass from her and rubbed it on the glass.

You are going to find this type of behavior everywhere, unfortunately it happened to you and your friend. Here's my apology for all the ignorance in the world and especially to you and your friend,.
