Standard statistical answer: It depends.
What browser are you using?
If you are using Firefox (which I highly recommend) click on the Tools menu bar and select Clear Private Data. A small window with several check boxes will pop-up. One of them is browsing history. Select it and click the Clear Private Data Now button.

Simple. At the top of the internet explorer window go to Tools, then to Internet options. Second to the bottom there will be a button on the right that says "clear history." Click that and you'll be set :)

You did not say which browser you are using. If it is Internet Explorer, click on Tools (on the top menu bar), then choose Internet Options. Click Clear History, then click OK.
In Firefox (by Mozilla), click Tools, then Options. Click on the Privacy icon, then the History tab. Click "Clear Browsing History Now."
Other browsers will have similar options.

Go to tools>>internet options>>delete cookies. This should clear the search bar.
If you're using Firefox, you can just go directly to Internet Options.
