Since coming to Canada 6 years ago, I've been using my Chinese name as my English name -- Lubin. But whenever I tell people my name, they either ask me to repeat it or they can't tell that I'm a girl or a guy (I'm a girl, btw).

I want to have a real English name, for convenience's sake. Lubin will become my middle name, and my last name is Li. Please gimme some good names that would go well with "_______ Lubin Li"

By the way, "Li" is pronounced as "lee".

Hi fellow Canadian. I'm sorry you feel that you need an English name. It's up to you about the name...but I wouldn't change to an English name. Lubin is an interesting name...I never heard that name before and that's probably why others are asking you to repeat it to them. Were use to every day names and someone throws a new one at us we sort of do a double take. It would sure be a boring world if everyone was named "Bob" or "Mary"...as a matter of fact....when I see an African American or Chinese with an English name it makes me wonder why.
